Retail shop, gallery

Late Baroque building in yard wing of the hand paper mill dates back to the second half of the 18th century. There are no written documents of its original purpose; most probably it was built as and it served as a retail commercial store for paper master Matyáš Werner junior (+1798), who operated lucrative remote sale of hand made paper.

Exceptionally preserved Baroque architecture without later reconstructions with original two-storey roof frames served as a sorting – preparation house for paper in modern history of the manufacture, later on the working stock was located here up to 1996. During the years 2001 – 2003, extensive reconstruction of foundations was performed of building masonry infested by sap-rot; original baroque roof frame, shingle covering and façade underwent an expensive reconstruction in 2005.

Since 2006, vaulted ground floor of the object houses spacious retail shop with complete assortment of products by hand paper mill, supplementary assortment of articles for fine artists and offer of branded Moravian wines from Templar cellars of Čejkovice. The retail shop is opened all the year round (opening hours is the same as that of the Museum of Paper).
